Missing it.

Seeing the photos of Jeron, Stephen, and Seamus driving to Hershey, and Seamus covering several more states, reminded me of my own Model T travels. I like to get in the car and GO. Right now I'm going out to the shop to get started putting the place in order so I can get back to work. OCF again? Maybe.

Are you going to rebuild the 15?

Dunno. I need to clear some indoor space and bring home the carcass.
I haven't seen it in person yet.

Great to read you are contemplating working on getting the runabout going again. It should not be a difficult rebuild and be sure to draw on all the offers of assistance and help. After the accident there was a tremendous outpouring of generous offers of parts and even labour to help you get the car back on the road. Hopefully I can look forward to reading about the progress of the re restoration.

Maybe we can find a way to get the 15 home so Steve can see it.

Is anyone going Kansas way from Indiana way that could help get Steve's 15 home?

Steve: I don’t know what your situation is with regard to your car. But, the picture I saw of your Roadster you might be back in the saddle quicker by looking at some of the later brass cars coming up for sale on the cars for sale page here. There are what look like good buys on that page . One is a 13 Roadster pickup. Just an idea. Good luck with whatever you decide. Dan

Steve: seriously you have nothing to prove by taking a T on major trips again. It may sound coarse but you kind of got lucky just being able to consider doing such a thing again. Take a modern on a long trip like to the OCF. For safety’s sake. Something you can at least walk away from in a accident. No one here is a kid anymore and things like safe travel need to be considered.

No one here is a kid anymore...

It's all too common to be reminded of that by all the things I can't do anymore.
An old friend tells me the word I need to learn is acceptance.
I think a better term for it is resignation.

I used to tell my family, but they never listen to me.

One doesn't quit doing things they enjoy because they got old.
One gets old because they quit doing things they enjoy.

Frankly, I would much rather die doing something I really enjoy than live a very long lifetime sitting comfortably.

Steve, you are 100% correct. Had I listened to the dr's and people that thought they were so smart, I would be 350 pounds on the couch eating cheese doodles playing some crazy video game,if I was lucky enough not to get hooked on pain meds.
I threw down the high powered pain meds and put myself back to doing things I loved.Adapt where I have to ,rest when I need to. I am alive and happy 19 years later after my accident and I credit my 2 Model T fords and a couple other projects for keeping me alive quite literally. gave me purpose, gave me hope.
