Fun projects hood shelf springs- who carries now?

Hi all,

Funprojects used to carry CORRECT hood springs but since they are gone, I did not see them on birdhaven or others. Or has anybody found a part substitute readily available to order that works better than the standard supplier ones? Thanks

The only way to know if they have them is to call them. Their catalog, which I have, does not identify products that were formerly made by others

My 14 year old son made a compressor to fit the ridiculously stiff springs offered by the vendors at the time. These put way too much load on an aluminium hood, so I replaced them with much lighter gauge ones from a hardware shop assortment. They are still in use after decades.

I second Allan's recommendation. The stock hood hold down springs on my 1912 Flanders were even stiffer than the Model T springs, so I replaced them with some weaker springs from the hardware store, they work great. :)
