Are you ready? Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about getting ready for some real Fun! If you joined us last June for the 53rd Annual Endurance Run & Lowland Tour, you know what I’m talking about. If you weren’t able to join us, don’t take my word for it, just take a look at the pictures and postings on the Forum from those who were. On Sunday, June 8th, we will start and finish the Endurance Run and Lowland Tour at the beautiful campus of the Palo Alto VA Medical Center. This is a special event, with Veterans, families, friends and enthusiasts gathering to see our cars, mingle and enjoy the festivities. In addition to the main event, we are planning to have a small vintage car show on site for the veterans until the speedsters and lowland participants return.

Like last year’s event, speedsters and lowland vehicles depart down the flag-lined driveway, with easy access to the winding Santa Cruz Mountain roads, redwood forests and spectacular ocean views! Everyone will meet for a delicious lunch at the midway point before heading out on the road again and meeting back at the VA Medical Center for awards and the closing ceremony.

On Saturday, June 7th, the Tech Inspection offers a great opportunity to catch up with friends, check out each other's cars and enjoy a summertime BBQ and cold drinks.

So whether you’re looking for challenge and excitement in your speedster, a leisurely mountain tour, or an opportunity to show your car and visit with our veterans, families and friends, join us! Better yet, invite your friends too!

This year’s run was the best single day of Model T-ing that I have ever done.

Speaking of rules I have heard there have been changes over the years ( have not been in attendance since 2009 )looked on the site & didn't
see any posted? Are they posted anywhere? I'm pretty sure my car would not pass the 2009 tech as it's set up curranty but have only heard
rumors of changes & not seen in writing any. Thanks.

Thank you Christopher that helps a lot. I do think I should talk to the Tech. director, as much as I admire the likes of Harry Miller & Smokey
Yunick I try not to assume if it's not in writing it's OK. I have some additions to my old speedster & I'm building an other I would both to be
eligible to run @ Santa Clara if I ever get the chance to go again. I will look for that info in January. Thanks again.

If you joined us for the 53th Annual Endurance Run & Lowland Tour, you already know what a great time we had last year! Well, we're at it again and have been invited back to the Palo Alto VA Medical Center campus for another great event! We expect this year's event to have even more speedsters and vintage classics than last year and have invited our friends from other clubs to join us on the 54th Annual Endurance Run & Lowland Tour or put their cars on display for the Veterans, family, friends and staff to enjoy while you navigate the beautiful Santa Cruz mountain roads!

To help make it easy for you to register, I've attached the registration packet to this post. You will also find the packet on our website along with the highlight video from last year and pictures from a number of photographers.

Great to have you on board for another great Endurance Run!

This year, in addition to the Endurance Run & Lowland Tour, we are coordinating a vintage car show on site with the VA Medical Center so more vets, families and friends can enjoy looking at some beautiful cars and visit with owners. The car show takes place between the time the speedsters and lowland cars leave the campus and when they return. It will make for a great day for everyone! Stay tuned.

BREAKING NEWS!

We recently updated our registration forms or the SCVMTFC 54th Annual Endurance Run & Lowland Tour to include information on hotel accommodations. If you haven't already, visit our website for details and registration forms.

This year we have an “Official” hotel and an alternative hotel. The “Official” hotel is the newly renovated Motel 6 Sunnyvale North. Same location as last year, but renovated inside and out. The renovations include a complete exterior make over including new stone work, side awning, paint and landscaping. The rooms have new flooring, new air conditioning units, new mattresses, fresh paint and flat panel TVs. Rooms at Motel 6 no longer include microwaves and mini fridges, however, they lowered the group rate an additional 10% due to the change! As you know, Motel 6 is pretty basic, kind of like the Ford Model T of lodging! However, at $76 plus taxes a night for two queen beds, it's the best rate in town and gets the job done!

For those looking for a few more amenities, we suggest the Hilton Garden Inn as an alternative. The Hilton Garden Inn is located on the same side of the street as Motel 6, just a couple of doors down. We do not have a group rate on this option, however, we were quoted $189 plus taxes for two queen beds as of 1/16/25. See the attached information sheet for details.

REGISTER BY MAY 21, 2025

We are only 9 weeks away from the SCVMTFC 54th Annual Endurance Run & Lowland Tour! Once again, we are starting and finishing at the beautiful Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA. Those who were with us last year will remember the opening ceremony with WWI Color Guard, our guest vocalist singing the National Anthem, the US Flag lined driveway and the much anticipated call to "Start your engines," followed by the flourish of the green flag as the speedsters roared past!

You have 3 opportunities to participate this year: (1)The Endurance Run open to all 1900 to 1927 era speedsters; (2) The Lowland Tour for period correct vehicles up 1942; and for the first time, (3) The Veterans Appreciation Car Show featuring period correct vehicles up to 1942. The Veterans Appreciation Car Show will be held on Sunday, June 8th from 11:00AM to 3:00PM, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Palo Alto, for our Veterans, their families and friends to enjoy while the speedster teams and lowland participants are navigating their way through the Santa Cruz mountains and Pacific coastline.

So, if you have a speedster that's just chomping at the bit to hit the open road, sign up for the Endurance Run. If you are looking for adventure in your pre-1942 Ford, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Dodge, Packard or other make, sign up for the Lowland Tour. Or, if you just want to show your appreciation and create lasting memories for veterans of all U.S. armed services, their families and friends, then sign up for the Veterans Appreciation Car Show and bring your prized automobile and spend the afternoon with some extraordinary people who made it possible for us to enjoy the freedom to pursue our love of these fine automobiles and their history.
