This may or may not be off topic but is there a way to add a "like" button? Often times I don't want or need to add anything to a post but would like to respond in some way, like being able to click on a button to say that I like a post without having to type 10 characters to say "like".

Mark, what are you going to do with all the seconds you save by being less personable? I tend to eschew all these icons, unless they add to the comment to make its purpose more clear.

I am also one who likes the "Like" button on many forums. I use it just like you do Mark......Just as kind of an acknowledgement of reading the post & agreeing without commenting. I do not believe that this version of the php@BB forum hosting supports a like button though.

The nice thing about this fourm format is that its simple. Thumbs up to not having blinking icons and video ads flashing!

You all are missing the point of my post. I am not talking about a whole post dedicated to a picture of the thumbs up and if you wanted blinky stuff I could post a whole line of this

or this

or this

or this
Most of the forums I read have a way to post a like on each comment. If someone posts a great solution to a problem, click on the box to agree or indicate a great idea.

My post was because I liked your suggestion.

That's the spirit Steve. Your post with just the icon would be meaningless. How much longer does it take to add such a short qualifier?

Mark, you just did respond,in a thoughtful manner. That's much better than someone's mass emoji. Well done.
