Did he turn the steering wheel upside down trying to disguise the fact that it is a Model T?

First photo is a highly desireable 1918 coupe (removeable window pillars).

Sidelamps have been removed. Appears to be aftermarket wood felloe demountable wheels. Heavy cable coming from battery box and through splash apron indicates it might be equipped with an aftermarket combination starter/generator.

Photo #3, it looks like the mother-in-law seat is being put to the use it was intended!

Eric, thanks for the details on the coupe. I was distracted by the smile. Contrast that with the sourpuss a bit further down.

Allan from down under.

Looks a little like “Lothar”, the heavy in the 1991 movie “Rocketeer”. At the end of the Rocketeer just before the credits, Bruce McCalley can be seen driving his Model T into the last scene and parking it near the Gee Bee Model R racing plane. Excellent movie that the whole family can watch.

Ohrts' Garage looks like they put a lot of money, time and energy into that gas station. Not many early gas stations look as nice as THAT one! That's
a true "high class operation! Wonder if it is still standing somewhere?

Mattie’s tavern is still in Los Olivos. It’s part of a much fancier complex now in the California wine country. I like the way it looked back then better. I grew up in Santa Barbara and my uncle lived in Los Olivis when I was little.

Thanks for posting the picture, I should have done that. It’s an old stage station on the route over San Marcos Pass. One of my ancestors worked at one of the other stations (Cold Spring Tavern) on that route during the stagecoach days.
