Turning Question

I'm setting up my front end, getting ready to put the wheels back on and I have a question. I haven't reinstalled the steering column yet but I wonder if in normal operation, is it possible to turn the wheels far enough to the right or left that the spindle stops against the axle?

I don't think that is possible, however, on some years, it is possible to turn so far that you can't straighten out the wheels after the turn. The later steering shaft had a pin through one of the planetary gears which was longer than the others and fit into a groove in the gear box which would limit the distance the wheels could be turned. It is also important to have the correct drag link so that it turns equally in each direction and the pitman arm is straight down when the wheels are pointing straight ahead.
