I am Kevin Hammack, promoter of the Duncan Swap Meet, 35 year Upholstery Guy, 35 year Firefighter, and lifetime car addict. I would like to invite each of you to the Duncan Swap Meet March 20,21,22. We have set aside Outside, Inside, and Covered areas designated Pre-War only. We have a great facility, there are RV Spaces with electric and water, and we have showers onsite. As you know the Heart of Oklahoma has had a rich history with the Prewar Community, we strive to continue the Legacy of the Prewar Swap Meet. Duncan is a welcoming town, several restaurants, hotels and motels. If booking a Hotel or Motel, several have offered deals for the Swap Meet, If you ask them. We have had a great response from the prewar vendors, and this is shaping up to be a great turnout. There will be a Main Street Car Cruise on Friday Night just a couple miles from the Fair Grounds for anyone wanting to stroll, visit or drive your car. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them. Please if you have a suggestion of other sites to get the word out, feel free to leave them, or send them directly to me. 580-467-2471 mrupsigns@gmail.com

Kevin thank you for your hard work, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank Gene French in particular plus all the word of mouth from other members. While I am biased toward Ford vehicles, I would encourage and ask anyone else that has contact info for other makes of pre war vehicle clubs to provide contact info to you & post a link if they can. As a 22 year attendee of the retired Pre War Chickasha meet I recall the abundance of those other make vehicle vendors when that meet was more vibrant. In addition if anyone has a personal relationship with bigger commercial vendors to encourage their participation ie Chaffins, Lang’s, Snyder’s & Coker. Birdhaven’s plans to attend so that’s a solid start! I realize that for the larger vendors that are located in the east & west it’s a commitment in travel & expense but this is one of those take one for the team type things. After all these are some of your customers. Your presence would be immense, much like Anchor Stores in a mall. Your presence raises the tide for all. If you were a hobbyist vendor at Chickasha reach out to others you know that attended in the past and invite them to give Duncan swap a chance to grow by participation. I’m 100% sure there are going to be hiccups but what doesn’t in its beginning of a new section in a robust already established automotive swap meet. I believe that last year there was north of 500 spaces occupied last year. What an opportunity to grow interest for the pre-war bug. Best John

Thank you for giving us a replacement for Chickasha. I am planning on coming, and I hope we can make the pre-war section as big as Chickasha was 10 years ago. There are still tons of people that enjoy the pre-war cars and trucks.

We( Birdhaven Vintage Auto Supply) contacted Kevin in April of last year requesting an inside spot or two. I also reached out to Kevin last month to make sure we had a spot or two, Kevin assured me that we do.

We will be there all three days. We are looking forward to seeing everybody!

Please make every effort to attend, This is not just a swap meet it is a gathering of great people!

Thank you Kevin for taking on the PRE-WAR part of the old car hobby.

See you all in March

Kevin:
i have spoken with several car guys this week from the upper mid-west and as far east as the Florida panhandle area that are planning on being at the swapmeet ... only 5 weeks away and i am looking forward to what i hope will be a good meet and milder temperatures ... it was 16 deg. F . this morning and is forecast to be colder next week ...i continue to re-stock my regular inventory of babbitt bearing tooling and have dug out some more Dodge Brothers items , a Simms-Huff starter generator ( Maxwell) some more model T distributors , various size re-babbitted ballcaps and re-babbitted connecting rod sets , a set of 1926/27 model T 4dr. front doors , 1928 Chev. radiator , 1928 Chev. cylinder head , several model A and model B distributors and Dixie and Wico magnetos ...
the concept of an all year swapmeet with a special section for " pre-war" parts should work surprisingly well in that the attendance will be driven by a wide range of interest ...also in many cases the people interested in the " hot rod " vehicles may have unused vintage parts for sale or know of their location ...i am an optimist as always and i am looking forward to this meet and visiting with old friends ... see you all there ...Gene French

spoke to several old car guys here in Colorado about the Duncan swapmeet ... seems there is a lot of interest in a all models swapmeet that includes a good compliment of early models in a separate section ... probably a good way to guarantee a good crowd ... also to increase the interest of younger members ... i am looking forward to this meet and visiting with our model T and Dodge Brothers ... i am adding a small DC tig welder to my batch of items ... i have upgraded to a AC/DC welder to be able to weld aluminum sheet stock ... will have a good selection of re-babbitted ballcaps and connecting rods ... see you all there ...Gene French

I had been to every Chickasha meet except three. So having a place to start a new pre war meet is awesome. Lots of work has went into this by a lot of people to make this possible. We have four spaces this year . We barely got inside spaces because we had to wait to make sure we could make it this year. So we do not know if we are centrally located in the pre war section or on the edges of it. But wherever we are is good. We camp on our spaces, so look for the Tacoma with a roof top tent. To cut costs, camping on the spots saves a lot of motel costs. You also are there every minute of the swap meet. Less chance to miss something and more time to sell things. Camping in one of the heated buildings is a great way to experiance the swap meet . We were the very last vendor to leave Chicasha last year. Hope to be one of the first there this year at Duncan. Hope to see all the same folks as usual. It's a social event as much as a swap meet
