TT tool kit

I was lucky today a snagged a TT-5893 wrench at a swap meet. The description that the seller had on the tag read as follows: “Ford TT-5873 only made 1925-1927 for TT truck, spark plug, head bolt, and rim wrench”

It got me thinking… what are the correct tools that were supplied with the ton trucks from factory (ford part numbers would be helpful) and what does a TT jack look like? Did the trucks come with a tire pump? I’d like to try to collect all of the proper tools to go with my 1926 TT I’m restoring.

Here is the later Price List of Parts page of the tools Ford provided.

This page copy is marked with broad dash by each of the factory tool kit pieces. The markings are the dark dashes by the part numbers.

Your TT would have the std. tools of the T, with the std. items of the head bolt and spark plug wrench, T size jack with its handle and pair of T size clincher tire irons, which would be replaced by the FOUR TT part numbers at the bottom of the page. Those are the TT jack and its handle, the TT large tire irons, and the TT spark plug and head bolt , rim bolt wrench.

Thankful for the forum and all the nice folks in the T hobby. I was able to purchase this very nice TT jack at a great price.

Nice score. Here the jacks were supplied by a couple of different manufacturers. Neither looks like yours. One in particular has an inbuilt step in the upright. This step is used on the lower front axle when jacking. The heavier, taller upright section is used on the higher rear axle housing. I wish i had a photo to show it, but when I have found one I turn it over to someone who needs it.

On car jacks, there is a flip up section to compensate for the different heights of the axles.

Now that you have the TT jack, the handle is a tough item to find. The TT tire irons are a bit easier to find at swap meets.

This older post ( link below) shows the TT tire iron and a jack and handle. Scroll down the thread and you will find the detailed measurements of the jack handle to make a replica.

The late Jack Daron made one from these measures, and provided a few copies to others.
