Photo #1 of the 1926 touring appears to have been taken in the late 30s. People back then must’ve had disdain for Model Ts as I see he has no hub dust covers. But thank you for the entertaining photos Tom.

Note the car behind is late 30's. I remember those days. It was toward the end of the depression. Money was very hard to come by and that cap might have fallen off or bumped in a minor accident.

The photo looks like a “still” from some movie. Movie cars often had the windshield glass removed to eliminate reflections and glare while filming. By late 30s, Ts were considered “funny old cars”, emblematic of failure, poverty or “country hicks” and good for a laugh.

#10 - I’d love to know the story behind this photo. New-looking 1913 with electric lamp conversion (for the side lamps too, maybe ?). That tent is going to be there for the season, with a wooden floor. The two gents look pretty comfortable, and the saddle horse has a real solid ground tie !

While I'm wondering about the method of suspension, or lack thereof, on the racer....

Arther Lake and Penny Singleton. The kid is Baby dumpling played by Larry Simms.
Yes, that is a still from their 1940 movie "Blondie Plays Cupid" You can find it on YouTube.

There's one scene with the T where they get a free start.

The movie is one of a few in the "Blondie" series. They were based upon the comic strip which I think is still running today. I know it was still going just a few years ago when we finally quit with all local newspapers. The background of the comic was a love story, he, a nice young impoverished man (the original setting was during the depression!), she the daughter of a wealthy businessman. Her family cut her off because she married the poor young man, so this used to the finer things young lady and the fellow that never had much make a life together, along with eventual son, daughter, and dog "Daisy".
The series of movies ran from the late 1930s, into the 1950s, and often starred Arthur Lake as Dagwood.

That is one of several variations on the "Laurel" brackets, sometimes called "suicide lowering brackets" due to the front spring being moved to behind and near the bottom of the front axle. If a shackle, perch, or bracket were to break, with nothing underneath the spring for it to land upon, in theory the spring could drop to the ground and flip the car. A perch with a long-hidden weld repair (unknown through a couple owners!) on a very good friend's speedster did break at speed on an Endurance Run, resulting in a wild ride for he and his wife. But no flip, and no serious damage.

If you look closely at the photo, you can see part of the spring peeking out from behind the axle.

Eleven has a neat lineup of interesting automobiles. I wonder what the story is behind that?
The fancy sport roadster appears to be a model T with an after-market body on it. It looks like something ABC may have made? There were several other companies offering similar bodies.
Another case of we don't often get to see these type Ts in with regular traffic.

Here is the suspension. Looks like a double eye perch inverted (attached to the bottom). Note jut a nut shows above the axle and you can see one eye of the perch open as in the example car. Think I have some other pictures from the backside.

Picture #4 , the front tyre seems to have been patched, but a brand new tyre is on the running board, probably saving the new one for as long as the patch will hold up.

The routing of the downspouts on the house in the background of picture 6 indicates the house had a cistern. Something you don't see anymore.

Dagwood Bumstead. The Blondie movies are on Saturday mornings here in Ohio on one of the nostalgia TV channels.

Pic #14. The Dealer's Show room and parts display. Zoomed in on one of the glass cases on the right and noted the "Cannon" in the glass shelf.

Did these years ago, made the aeroplane and the cannon from standard Ford T and TT parts. [/b]
