Getting close to time for the Duncan swap meet. (March 19, 20, 21) It's looking like the move from Chickasha is being accepted as the pre war replacement. But we need to make it as successful as possible this year. So I challenge everyone on the fence to throw a bunch of stuff in the back of a truck, rent 1 or more spaces and show up as a vendor. The old Chickasha had a lot of single pickup load vendors for years. Some of the best things I bought was from single truck vendors. If nothing else it gets a perfect parking spot and base to come back too with your treasures. By bringing some stuff to sell, it helps to cut the costs. So everyone even remotely considering selling some of your extras, this is the year to do it.
Hope to see all the old crowd and lots of new faces. ....
I was able to move into the main pre war building, because someone wanted outside spaces instead of inside. So look for the rooftop tent on a Tacoma. Come by and visit ...

Donnie:
this meet is generating considerable interest and i expect will be subject to many conversations in the coming year ... i have spoken with a BUNCH of old car people who are planning to attend , both to sell and in search of items for their restoration projects ...a swapmeet gives a person the opportunity to see the item they are purchasing and also speak with the seller and possibly locate other needed items or atleast share experience or insight into a problem or process ...i will bring a variety of items in addition to my babbitt tooling ... some Dodge Brothers parts , a Maxwell starter/generator , some early magnetos , Model T distributors , a 1928 Chev. 2 port cylinder head ( i will try to bring an adapter plate for this head ) and a Chev. radiator and shell ... i am looking forward to this meet ... has been cold and windy here and i can use some hopefully warmer weather ...always an optimist Gene French

I agree that the move to Duncan is creating a lot of interest. I believe the merging of a pre war area and the established general swap meet will be a good thing. I believe the pre war guys need to self screen their parts and stay as true to pre war as they can. No 50s 60s stuff.. Even if a person can not come as a vendor, come as a buyer, and buy what you can afford. Now is the time to support the move to Duncan. Having a good pre war meet in the central US has always been one of Chickashas better selling points. I'm loading the trailer this week to be in Duncan Wednesday night and ready to start playing Thursday morning.
See ya'll there. (I'm from Arkansas and can legally say ya'll)
As to the weather, come prepared for 80s degree weather, or you may need full blizzard winter protection. Springtime in that part of Oklahoma can change hourly.

Started loading more boxes of goodies. The main thing I'm looking for is teens, 1920s, 1930s, camping items. That can be anything related to Auto Touring or Motor Camping. Even books, literature, photos, post cards, Tin Can Tourist stuff. I'm currently looking for a 1920s Coleman lantern. A nice folding wood table would also be nice on our camp trips. Just about anything
