Source of Schraeder 724/725 sized metal stems
I have a couple of tubes where I have been driven with too little pressure in the tires, so that the rubber stems are cut off.
I'm considering save them by mounting metal stems and I can see that mr. Jelf recommend/use Schraeder 724/725 sized metal stems.
I've browsed around but have not found any availabel at the normal vendors (Including restauration supply).
Is swapmeets the answer? Not many stems on the swapmeets over here (Denmark).

Hi Michael, I'm surprised that know one has responded with help. First off, to my knowledge there's no source of metal stems like you want. And you're right swap meets are your best source........but evidently not in Denmark! How much of a rush are you in? I probably have some of those and I'm not at the moment needing them. Give me some details. What size tubes are these for 30X3,3 1/2, or 450/21? I wouldn't sell any to someone in the U.S. because they have the same opportunity as me......go scrounge them up at a swap meet. You're at a definite disadvantage. If interested, lets talk.

Re: Source of Schraeder 724/725 sized metal stems
Ed is right. My metal stems have always been swap meet finds. Europe does not have a Chickasha or a Hershey, but I can't believe that most cars there in the teens and twenties used stems of a much different size. Does Denmark or a neighboring county have meets where metal stems might be found? My first guess for information would be Tucket Brothers, but maybe there is somebody closer who knows of a source. Andre? Toon?
The inevitable often happens.

Actually our "response to Hershey" - the "Swapmeet" in Nyvang is next weekend. Even though not much Model T these days even though it was originally the danish Ford Model A club that facilitated the Swapmeet in the first place.
I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for your responses so far!

I use a 888 which is 1/4" shorter than the 777 that Ford used. It does the same thing but is still ok as far as function.

Re: Source of Schraeder 724/725 sized metal stems
Michael, the ones Larry mentions are those used on T models. They are smaller in diameter than those you posted, these usually being easier to obtain. If you get stuck, I could supply original stems and dust covers for the larger ones you list. I have far too many to ever use them all!

Very fine, Allan. Lets see what sunday brings me at "Swap meet". The good thing getting them from Australia is minimum if any tarriffs bad thing might be shipping cost after all.
