So I received a reply for a part I was looking for from the HCCA. The email smelled fishy so I further enquired. He sent me a picture of the 12 that he has. I googled the image and found it on Pinterest. LOL Here’s the thread from a Paul Haggis:

That’s a very nice looking 12. Why would you be parting it out when it looks like that? Do you want to sell the complete car?

Automatic transmission gears (this would be for the 5th Gear)

Master cylinder

Touring top with the light switch built in

Brass horn

Early exhaust manifold

I want to see his prices. I need some of those parts.

This problem is everywhere. For the past 3 or 4 days my wife has been getting calls from an "877" area code, but a different phone number each time. A recorded voice informs her, "This is the Social Security Administration Office. You are receiving this call because we have detected unauthorized activity on your Social Security card. We are about to cancel you Social Security number. Press 1 for more information about this case."

Of course she hangs up, but I can't help but wonder what would happen of she did press 1. As far as I know Social Security doesn't have her cell number and I'm reasonably sure (positive) a robo call with a recorded voice is NOT how a federal agency would communicate such an item.

Be careful out there!!!!!

of America.

Just go into your bank and ask them to help you transfer the money,
is very easy and fast.

ME:So I’m at my bank, and they are asking for proof of retrieval funds? (I'm messing with him now)
They said there’s a lot of scammers trying to get money from people, I told them that you are not a scammer since you gave me a picture of the car. They are asking for your home address though. Can I have it?

NO federal agency whatsoever contacts ANYONE by phone or email... Initial contact is ALL done vial snail mail letter.

I know you know this but if you ever, EVER question if it was really the IRS/FBI/DHS/etc., trust me - it's NOT!

If it's THAT bad they'll send an agent to your front door (yes, they still do that).

Of course you knew this... right??

Thanks Susanne. Yes, I know. But there are people out there who don't. It's hard to believe, but people still fall for such nonsense.

I have twice recieved the "IRS has issued a warrant for your arrest" calls. I freakin' LOVE to get these things. They tell you to press 1 or 3 or whatever but if you just hold on someone answers and man I go to town ! I hand out the phoneyest crap you've ever heard and both times they hang up after a good string along. The best though was the "Hello Grandpa" ? call. You know, the one where your grandkid is in custody & needs bail money? Man put that one on speaker phone and my wife was rolling on the floor laughing ! Most fun I've had in a long time. "What happened to the ten grand I sent you last month? I just wish I could see their faces when I start shoveingl the natural plant fertilizer (horse s++t).

I looked up the address on Lamphere.... it's a vacant lot in an extremely run-down neighborhood.

So I told Paul that I don't live too far and was going to make the trip up and talk to his mechanic and see the parts for myself and I would just drop him a check. He told me not to come and no one would be there....but just go ahead and send the money and he would tell the mechanic to pull the parts off the vehicle. I told him that I was at his house and no one was home...He hasn't responded back. LOL

I got a call this morning, from an actual person. "Is Anna there" now I've fallen for this before and said "no" thinking it was a wrong number and it's just an attempt to engage in conversation. My response now it "Yes, I'm going to get her for you" Usually after I do this it is 4-6 months before they try again. This time they waited a full minute before hanging up.

Be careful about using the word "yes". It can be recorded and used to document your agreement to something you did not agree to. I always say, "Can I help you?" It usually results in a hang-up.
