I hadn’t done this in a while and now I know why they sell them in packs of 10. Tried to install using a bolt as a driver like I have done in the past but screwed up a couple. Broke down and spent 3 minutes at the lathe making a driver.

I resorted a to piece of hardwood dowel until I turned one out of brass !

I’ve always tapped them in with a hammer, lids closed and never had a problem.

I use a 1/4" drive deep socket that fits, with the top/flap/cover open, into the cup of the oiler and with a small brass hammer, tap the flip top oiler in via the drive end of the socket.

I do like Kenny, tap them in with a hammer, lid closed.

At the factory I’m sure they drive them in with a single hammer blow, lid closed.

Same here. Always tap them in with a small hammer.
It seems I lack the imagination for a more elaborate method.
