Trying to start my Model T after it has sat for 14 years. Any suggestions?

Re: Starting a Model T
Having been through the exercise when I first got my car, there's two things that would have saved me a lot of hassle.
First thing is to make sure the valves are sealing and there's a usable amount of compression - otherwise it will never start.
Chances are the fuel system has dirt in it, and the float valve in the carburettor won't shut off. Either that, or there's not enough fuel flow due to blockage.
Obviously, make sure each spark plug actually fires - timer and coil box contacts could be tarnished after a long period of disuse. Engine oil should be changed after that long of a period too - it's likely to have deteriorated, and may have water in it.
