The 3321B 26-27 plates aren't rare, just finding one in excellent shape. I would call Lang's and ask for them to sort out a good one with tight rivets that haven't been hammered, and complete with the fingers and screws too from the used Ford parts piles; they stock used parts for trans. Just not in the catalog or on-line as supply varies.

I have a few plates with the fingers, but I don't know how to tell 26/27 from earlier one.
Can someone show me the difference ?
Thanks

Improved Car driving plate 3321B, 26-27 has no lip on edge, as it fits recessed into the large brake drum 3311 B.

Dan's post helps to identify the plates. The outside edge of the 26-7 plates goes inside the drum, so the bands do NOT rub on that edge. With the earlier plates that same outside edge forms part of the brake drum surface. It will show signs of wear and is not likely to be consistently flat across its surface. An easy check is to see how any plate you might have lines up with a standard brake drum diameter.
The mounting holes on the later plate appear closer to the edge of the plate, but this is not easily recognised without an earlier plate with which to compare. The mounting bolt holes actually have a different PCD.
Hope this helps.

Be sure and check for cracks in the flange at the rivets. I have found either they are cracked or the rivets are loose. Sign that pan is bent and or transmission shaft is out of alignment. Dan

The push ring is different too. It has smaller diameter pins. The new style driving plates for the brake drums with shoes for the earlier models have the same setup.
