For those of us who like 10w30 motor oil- we have been disappointed for the last year or so because the supply on 10w30 has been short to none.
Well, maybe the shortage is over. Oreilly's now has Rotella (non synthetic) in gallons and quarts. . At least stores in the Nashville district have it.

I usually find Valvoline non synthetic 10w30 at Walmart.

Must be a regional shortage. Here in Central Texas see I it in the auto parts stores and Walmart when I’m looking for it. Dollar store too.

Don't know if it's nationwide or not, but NAPA has 5 quart jugs of oil on sale for $11.99. Was told it's made by Valvoline.

Pardon my ignorance, but why is synthetic frowned upon?

Synthetic is good oil but is made for cars running many miles before changing oil. The Model T has no filter and runs in both engine and transmission and must be changed very often. That is really a waste of money for the synthetic oil. You can use it if you want, but I seriously doubt it will help your engine longevity.

I use 20/50 synthetic, Like it a lot, but I don't use the stuff for modern cars. The friction modifiers cause Some T clutches to slip. I use Amsoil Z-Rod or WalMart 4 Stroke Motorcycle full syntec oil. Most motorcycles have wet clutches like the T.
Some guys love synthetic blends but mix their own. Synthetics cling to internal parts better from my observation. Blends from the store maybe have as much as only 10 %, so mix your own.

No issue getting 10-30 here in Portland Or. so far, never has gone off the shelf(unless they run out).

15W-40 diesel oil is far cheaper than regular oil. I buy Valvoline gallon jugs at Walmart.

Menards (mans paradise) has Rotella for $12.95 a gallon..either 10/30 or 15/40.
Been using it all my life on all engines..gas or diesel. Can't beat its quality.

I've switched to straight 30w Supertech, very affordable. Don't have too much to worry about in California, temps never dip very low. I tried 15w-40 Rotella but found it was hard to crank the t over so I switched to 30Wt.

Watch out! It will destroy your engine, because it doesn't cost enough.

I use SAE 30 detergent (AKA HD 30) in my lawnmowers. I could use 10W30 but I prefer single weight for the mowers.

The nearest Walmart no longer carries Super Tech SAE 30 detergent oil and I do not see it available on their website.

I can get both detergent and non-detergent SAE 30 at O'Reilly and Autozone which are within walking distance. I run 30 weight non-detergent in my '17 roadster. Autozone use to have a house-brand detergent and non-detergent SAE 30 which was very inexpensive but now they sell STP. O'Reilly still has their house brand of SAE 30 detergent. They also sell Valvoline which is eight dollars(!) a quart.

Menards carries SAE 30 detergent in quarts and 20 oz. bottles. The 20 oz. bottles are labeled "lawn mower oil" but it is a complete rip-off as you are paying more per ounce.

Approx. 35 years ago, I worked for a very short time at a neighborhood gas station/convenience store. We stocked and sold a lot of non-detergent SAE 30. It was recycled/reclaimed oil and was about 80 cents a quart. It was purchased mainly by poor people and kids who drove heaps that burned or leaked a lot of oil. For under a dollar, they could buy a quart of non-detergent and keep driving their cars.

Shucks Erik, I remember when Erickson’s gas station on Rice St. in Saint Paul sold none detergent reclaimed oil for 30 cents a quart.
I worked at Phillips 66 up on Rice n Lawson. The best we could do was 45 cents for non-d and 50 cents for detergent straight grade oil. The TropArtic 10/30 was 65 cents. Gas was 29.9 for regular, the Flite Fuel was 31.9.

Most of the middle section various brands of 10W30. Least expensive is Formula Shell Clean Engine Oil 10W30 Conventional Motor Oil @ $1.99 qt
