Hey all,
Hoping someone has an easy way to pull the inner oil seal in the rear end so I can put newer neoprene ones in while I have it apart. Is There a tool that can be purchased/manufactured? Not sure what is in there now cuz' all I can see is the washer but am pretty sure when it was rebuilt last neoprene was just a chemist's dream. Thanks for your ideas, Tried a bent piece of wire but a piece small enough in diameter to go between axle and washer wouldn't seem to do the job.
PS Note to self sleeve pulling tool worth every penny

Try a oxy-acetelyne welding rod or any long piece of rod that’s stiff enough and a larger diameter than a piece of wire.

Got plenty of old wire hangers but was to big diameter to go between washer and axle or housing

Aaah. Brainstorm. I have an extra piece of brass stock I used to make a new choke pull. Bet that would do it. Will get back to yall.

You're doing the smart thing. Sometimes the metal parts of those old leather seals will score the axle shaft until it breaks.
