I’d like to put something out there that never really seems to get mentioned about the Prus head. Of course the power difference it offers is a noticeable improvement on our cars, but the one aspect that seems to be overlooked is what that additional compression does for the engine’s retarding ability on long downgrades.

I live in the flatlands of southern New Jersey and just finished up doing the Luray Tour. The affect that I felt driving with that head on my car was outstanding and I now rank it up there as a safety item. I do have disc brakes also but found myself just letting her chug down the hills with the throttle shut and rarely used the brakes. This was my first hilly run on my Prus engine and I will be putting this head on all of my T’s.

There are several advantages to using the Prus head and related designs. The technology was developed well after the Model T was designed, and I think it would have been adopted widely, sooner, if not for the poor quality gasoline of that era.

Even a standard head can provide adequate engine braking if you are looking ahead. Modern drivers tend to place an over reliance on the vehicles brakes for controlling their speed. That is a plus with a high compression head. Drive it like it has no brakes.

I bought his last head at Luray.

They were selling like hot cakes there.

If they were not good, they would not sell as good, as the word gets around, like your note will.

Absolutely the one best performance improvement product available. The only drawback is you have to create your own Ford script if you want to fool anyone. i used JBweld and an exacto knife to add the script and made in Canada to mine.
