Does anyone have plans to build a magnet re-charger using a recycled transformer?

Part way through the post it talks about Dave Gingery's design, if you can find a copy of his book (out of print) you would be good to go (except material cost ).

Any of Dave Gingery's books are worth having... if you can find 'em.

Then too, you can sometimes find them at a farm show, as a lot of old tractors used magnetos.

I got this one for $100.
