In this post from 2013, https://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/3 ... 1366131784, about 26-27 floorboards, there is a picture of the bottom board with 2 cleats mounted underneath. They are to be glued and nailed from the bottom up, and the ends of the nails bent over. Could someone post the size of these cleats? Thanks.

I have the 1926 Ford drawing for the floorboard assembly but not the individual "cleat" drawing. Taking a measurement off the assembly drawing I get the following dimensions for the "cleat". 1" 1/8 wide, 5/8" thick, 9" 7/8 long. The cleat is attached by clincher nails 1 1/4" long, with the head on the nail on the front side of the floorboard and the tip of the nail bent over on the back side of the floorboard. No call out for glueing it. Floorboard assembly is painted black. Same assembly for Roadster, Touring, Coupe and Tudor. The "cleat" is not used in later production when the floorboard was made from plywood.

My '27 dates from September 1926. The upper boards are not plywood, but the bottom board is plywood and looks like a replacement.

You mention that the floorboards on the later production cars were plywood and that the cleats were not used then. Do you know if all the pieces were plywood, or were there combinations thereof?

I was researching floorboards for 1926 so I did not keep good notes for the later floorboards. I think all three late production floorboards had an option to be made with plywood.
