Adding a drain hole in a Ford-Fathful oiler?

Has anyone added a drain hole at the bottom of the lower plate, so you don't dump so much oil when you take it off? If so, what size did you use? While not a huge amount, it still dumps a lot of oil when you take if off. As most know, a little oil goes a long way making a mess!

Been a long time since I had one of those Ford Faithful oilers. However I do really like them.
As I recall, that little weep hole often plugs up with the myriad bits of debris and band lining material. I usually packed some paper towels behind the FF oiler before removing it. Usually, I could catch most of it.

Last night when I pulled mine (not glued together) most of the oil poured out the sides and down the hogs head. Luckly I had the drain pan in the right place and caught most of it.
I went with 3 places and a little bigger then shown in the above photo, 3/32. Looking at the one in above, think it is bigger than 1/32. Drilled one where it is shown and one each corner at the bottom. As much oil as was pushing out the top where I needed to seal better, at a fast idle, think they will be ok until getting pluged up as Wayne said.
Thanks

Consider, that when the drain hole is open, it will drain as designed for removal, still filling & keeping full the reservoir pocket that feeds oil out to the front of the motor.
On a related note, the unit shown doesn't have a screen to filter out the chunks. The FF base units I have seen normally have a screen spot welded inside to catch the chunks. Coincidentally?, the screen mesh is about the same mesh size as the drain off hole.
