Does anyone know the length of the speedometer cable for a 22 sedan. I have one that’s 50 inches and suspect thats not long enough.

On our Canadian supplied cars the cable length varies, depending on where the speedo head is mounted in the car, whether the drive is on the left or right end of the axle, whether it is mounted on an extended spindle arm nut or on the spindle arm, and whether the swivel rotates left or right.. Maybe your request needs supply some more details, unless there is a standard fitment on US cars.

Will,

I'm willing to be corrected, but my first thought was that the 50" unit was meant for the brass era cars, and the later cars had different lengths depending on where the pickup or head was located??? I 'think' like 3 different sizes were around with the worst case being some 60" long???

Hopefully, someone will come in more specific and help your cause, but I'd suggest you maybe keep your ears open for a 60...

The length of the cable depends on where the swivel is mounted for a car with a dashboard.
1) Swivel mounted to the spindle arm behind the axle = 54"
2) Swivel mounted ahead of the axle using a #3986 spindle stud = 60"
3) Brass cars use a 48" cable
I hope this helps, Russ Furstnow

That's where our Stewart 160 is mounted on our '19 Centerdoor - cable is 60" w/mount in front.
