I have a modern style WOSP starter that is pouring out the oil from the case. There are no new ones that I found at any parts stores. According to their website there is a seal on the shaft that seals it from oil . Anyone have any experience with this? Is it just a o ring?

There was a discussion a while back about a batch of starters where the case screw counterbores were drilled too deep and broke out into a cavity on the back side. No structural issue, simply leaks oil. Fix was to glob over the screw heads with silicone

WOSP starter oil problem can be easily fixed. I had same issue a few years back & solved the problem, with no issues since. Search WOSP starter oil leak on the forum for info & photo's.

Can't seem to locate the info & photo's I posted a few years ago on the fix for oil leak of WOSP starters. But it can be fixed if you remove the thru bolts & lift the starter nose & put a small bead of ultra RTV around. Also it is advisable to use blue lock tite on screws.

Thanks guys. Found the post and made the repairs. Hopefully after curing it will work.

Isn't the Wosp starter an English product? Who ever heard of an English motor cycle that didn't leak oil! There is a reason computers are made elsewhere. They have not yet been able to get English ones to leak oil!
