I am working on the last things before I can assemble the rolling chassis. The car is lowered, I am building new fenders, and I have a Muncie auxiliary transmission. All of these things complicate the running board brackets. I have a set of 26-27 brackets, but they would place the running board too low. I have a set of brackets that have been cut back to the frame that I could weld straight extensions on to raise the height of the boards. But, the front bracket will not clear the Muncie in its original location. I see that people cut the front bracket, but that weakens the structure. I have some ideas but I am interested in if/how other people have tackled this issue.

I don't what is typically used but TT brackets have have a different flange on the end of the bracket. They don't go across the frame.

I believe those are TT brackets. They should have the same drop, as the front mudguards are attached just as they were on the cars.

On second thoughts, when mounted on the bottom of a deeper TT frame, the drop in the arms will be smaller than on a car, so they may be better for your purpose

I had the same issue with my firetruck with a Muncie Aux. I cut the middle of the running board supports to clear the Muncie and then welded
gate hinge mounts & put a 3/8" brace between the running board supports like the early cast supports had.

When I built my 1917 shooting brake with KC Warford fitted, I could not run the straight tie rod between the ears on the running board brackets. I made two substitute rods. One end mounted to the brackets as usual. The other ends were made to pick up the mounting bolts on the transmission.
