My top irons are need of painting.
I am thinking of a semi-gloss black.
Or should I go to a flat black?
What have you guys/gals painted your top irons?
Thank you

I have painted all my top irons mounted on bodies gloss black.
I'm going to assume you mean top sockets?
The top sockets on my 1919 were a mis-matched pile of parts, some were pretty rusty with deep pits. I had them stripped, then powder coated with semi-gloss to help not draw attention to them. I wish I had powder coated them in gloss.

Gloss black. While I agree a satin finish looks best on chassis parts, gloss is my choice for top sockets.

Gloss black, in enamel. It is more resistant to chipping/damage when folding the top.
