The San Fernando Valley, CA Model T Ford Club was the base that MTFCA came from. Sadly from lack of membership it has dissolved. The SFV Model A Club Is thinking about becoming a joint T&A Club

. If you are interested the meetings are the third Thursday of the month at Galpin Ford. They meet upstairs over the truck sales showroom. This is on the West end of the property at Roscoe and Orion Ave.

The SFV club was such a major force of the early MTFCA. So sad to hear of their dissolution.

I think that was the group Walt Rosenthall was a member of. He lived in Glendale just a couple blocks south of Montrose, and I lived in Montrose. He helped us start the Model A Ford Club of America. I had a Model A at that time. It was from Walt that I actually got interested in Model T's. I remember meeting with both clubs at Devinshire Downs and touring up highway 99 over the grapevine to Bakersfield. In those days you could actually drive a T along that highway. Of course the speed limits were lower then.

This is a good idea. I would be interested in joining this joint Model T - Model A Club in the San Fernando Valley. 497-0601

The San Fernando Valley Model T Club was one of the responders which welcomed us on our first visit to the USA. We were hosted by Ben and Clara-Jo Ostergren on our arrival and became lifelong friends. Their home became our base on landing in LA, and our repacking and kick off point for home on our subsequent trips. Wonderful hosts! We met a lot of SFVMTFC members and attended many of their gatherings. It is regretable that it has come to this, but amalgamating with the A club should keep the spirit of the club alive.

The same thing happened to the Southern California Model T Club a couple of years ago.

I miss Chris Eggsgard. He was an icon in that club, along with our founder Bruce McCalley

As can be seen in another post, I just got a pile of old magazines (The Timer) and leaflets about tours from The Model T Ford Club of Southern California from the period of 1964 - 1968 (not complete). This is mostly pre-MTFCA and yes Bruce McCalley is editor of The Timer at some point and President in another.
Was both clubs chapters of MTFCA?

I've discovered that a certain Russ Furstinow was also active in that club and he should be around here
