I decided to take Thelma the ‘22 Canadian Tourer out this evening to the grocery store. No traffic and the cool evening breeze made for a pleasant ride! She ran perfectly and she was sad to go back into the garage.

What kind of light bulbs are folks using in the headlights for optimum lighting?

I have used all of the headlight bulb offerings and prefer the pre-focused ones for safety brightness along with their bright tail LED bulbs, .... and LED stop bulbs.

A stock model T painted black, with a single tail light, no turn signals, no brake light...my advice is to not drive it after dark.

For the Ford headlights to perform at their best the silver plated reflectors should polished to a bright mirror like finish. The headlight bulbs must be oriented with the filaments horizontal. Choose bulbs around a 50 cp. And last but not least, the headlights must be focused in accordance with the Ford Service Manual. Failure to do all those steps will result in headlights that are no better than parking lights.

Humblej- I actually have front and back turn signals, a brake light, tail light, and license plate light. I will definitely polish my headlight reflectors. Good tip thanks!

These are great lights! I think I’ll order a set. Thanks for the suggestion.

Can't tell for sure but it would appear the drivers headlight is wire differently than the passenger side meaning one is on his beam and the driver side is on low beam. Easy fix either by bulb being in 180 degrees out or the plug wiring. Just an observation. Just need to check it out.

The LED projector type bulbs are by far the best. Stock headlights in perfect working order are not adequate for modern conditions, or for driving on rural 2 lane roads at night at any speed over about 15 MPH. 50 CP bulbs are an improvement, but they draw a LOT of current, and still fall short on performance. Polishing headlight reflectors must be done correctly to get good results and avoid damaging them. Many reflectors need re-silvering to work as they should. Another benefit of the LED projector type bulbs is that they do not use the original reflector. Just plug them into the socket, aim them, and go. Dual tail/brake lights and turn signals are a must for night driving in traffic, and I would want to add reflectors. These improvements can be made without damaging the car, and some people have worked out detachable lighting for night driving.

There are multiple LED bulbs available. Only the pre-focused ones with their built in lens, projector globes, are able to be set and aimed correctly. Steer clear of those with multiple LEDS which just throw out a lot of ill directed light. I would also suggest a couple of detatchable LED flashing bicycle tail lights. They get attention!
