Ok y'all, got an odd question for you. I've been looking around for a T and i've come across a nice 25 fordor. i noticed that the door handles were somewhat drooping which to me looks like a worn latch. now i'm much more familiar with the A and i couldn't help but wonder if the 24-27 tudor and coupe latches would work on a 25 fordor? and how about the window regulators? same story as the A where the fordor is different? if i'm going to spend money and buy this car i want to make sure i can get the parts to fix the issue. and yes i've set my price to suit and i like it so far.

Those model A parts will not work on a model T 4 door. The model T 4 door has a wood structure under the sheet metal, nothing interchangeable with a model A or the model T tudor. Some body parts might be the same as a 1925 coupe, but I do not know for sure. Droopy door handles might be a symptom of damage to the wood structure, not necessarily the hardware.

i understand that the a parts wont fit, but i'm wondering what t parts will interchange. as far as the door handles, this is what the handles look like. it looks like to me the latch is worn and the spring isn't moving the handle back up all the way

Be careful. 100 year old body structure wood will need to be replaced. And the cost will exceed the value of the vehicle by many times. Our 27 Fordor is the second one that Don Booth rewooded. The wood appeared solid and intact, but was dry and brittle.

The Fordor T body structure has probably two times the wood that an A Tudor uses.

Drooping door handles are very common on cars with handles that rotate to open the door, whether the door structure is wood or all-steel, and the door latches usually work well regardless of the unsightly drooping. In most cases, a spring that returns the handle to its resting position is weak or broken. If you can find some pictures of replacement mechanisms or in the Ford service literature, it might be helpful. If the entire mechanism is loose in the door, the door probably won't close properly. The condition commonly affects the driver's door, but it can affect any door, and not a few driver door mechanisms were repaired over the years, leaving the others with more wear. It may be possible to clean and lubricate the mechanism to correct the problem if it is related to excess friction. If the wood is bad, it will have to be remedied for the car to be usable.

I took the handle off, clamped it in a vise and twisted the square shank till it suited me, an easy fix!

Some 25 four doors were equipped with all steel doors made by the Budd company. This was a transition year for the all steel 26 model year. Yes some 25s had wood framed doors, some had steel doors.

interesting, i always called 25 the transition from the old-style T to the new 26-27 improved t. and Budd made the body of my 31 A pickup
