I have a Hartford tube that I haven't had a chance to use yet. So far, I've had no chance to use it. The one thing I don't understand is why it is made in China? Doesn't the U.S.A. still have the capabilities to make a good quality tube?

Years of bad policy have driven most manufacturing out of the USA. Attempts are currently being made, against considerable resistance, to begin to correct that situation.

Tyres with tubes are a thing of the past. Without a mass market for any product, manufacture of stuff will decline, to a point where it is not viable to service that market. US, and Australian manufacturers for that matter, are capable of manufacturing tubes, even ones which hold air, but it is no longer a viable proposition for such a small market. Hence, the closure of Ford and GM car manufacturing plants in Australia. To resurrect such manufacture would require considerable investment in new plant and equipment. We are fortunate that niche manufacturing still makes such merchandise available. No amount of tariff protection will result in start-up production of obsolete goods.
Tariffs on tubes will mean increased costs to consumers of same, namely you guys. Don't imagine that the manufacturers will pick up the tab. Don't delude yourselves that such tariffs will cause US production of antique tyre and tube manufacturing to start up again in USA. If you have been led to believe so, I still have the on offer the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It makes for a wonderful venue for a New Year's fireworks display. 8-)

What's with you and tariffs in every single thing you post?

I'd think you'd want to spend your time selling trinkets on eBay to pay your proposed new tax on spare bedrooms

Somehow, businesses halfway around the world have, for several decades, been making money supplying American markets with everything from antique auto tires to track hoes, and everything in between.
