Hi I recently found a smith form a truck but it seems to have been made for a larger car than a model T. Does anyone have info on them. Did they make different models for other brands of cars. All I can find is the ones for model Ts.

There were such devices which could be fitted to TT's to turn them into 2TT's. I do not know if Smith form-a-trucks made these. The 2TT I worked on had eliptical springs on the rear axle, an auxiliary transmission and a jack shaft to make the connection to the worm drive torque tube.

Hi Alan. I have one of those kits on a TT truck also. It’s made by Olson it’s a neat setup. Yes it has elliptical springs. And the wheelbase is longer by the length of the warford transmission. And the frame goes back past the rear wheels about 3 feet.

Hi Bob, I would be interested to see a picture of your 2TT setup if you could post a picture here :-)
Thanks Adrian

Smith Form-a-truck kits were available for any car to convert to a truck, but as most cars of the time were T's, the form-a-truck became most associated with the Ford.
Period advertising for them listed Ford, Maxwell and Chevrolet with a $350 kit.

Before they began building exclusively for the Dodge Brothers (1920ish?), in the mid 1910s, The Graham Brothers manufactured make a truck kits to fit basically any automobile. Their advertising targeted mostly non-Fords, although they did also make kits for the model T. Their kits were mostly custom built, tell them what chassis you had and what you wanted it to be capable of hauling, and they would build the kit to fit your needs. As a matter of record, they did make a kit for a Stutz as well as the more common Cadillac and Hudson cars.
