Kim: That looks like Steve’s old truck. Always liked that truck.
Merry Christmas. Dan

A family tradition for many years. Go and get the tree in a T!

I didn't get a chance to pick up a tree, but I was able to drive to our smalltown Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

How I wish I had taken a picture when we bought our Christmas tree in 2004 while still living in Phoenix! Our Corvette was not the ideal vehicle for transporting a tree from the lot to our house. So, the only alternative for us was to put the top down on our 1928 Model A Phaeton (pictured sans tree) and have the tree ride in the back seat as a "passenger", its tip extending way past the spare tire in back. Sticking so far out, it probably should have had a red warning flag! Even without being adorned with Christmas ornaments, we received a lot of thumbs up and smiles from cars piled high with Christmas presents. 'Must have made the nostalgic and mythical "Old fashioned Christmas" come to life for them.

Note how a 1928 Phaeton bears a strong resemblance to a 1927 "Sport Touring" with its wire wheels, bumper bars, windwings, tuna can taillight and tan top boot, as well as an optional blue color. Coincidence you say???

By taking the top half of our small 6 foot artificial (of course!) tree apart and turning it into a "table top" tree.

It was all because of Steve Coniff's pickup, that I was able to see my very first 25 pickup. He helped me a lot during my learning years, and we became very good friends. He is missed. Kim will be a good caretaker for this car.
