Passing the torch.

The time has come to pass the torch so to speak. I have taught my grandson the methods of babbitt pouring of model T main bearings and the procedure of boring and align reaming the bearings. I have been doing babbitt work for 40 years, but the time has come to share the knowledge with a younger person.

Glad you had a willing grandson to pass the knowledge on to. Many men in the trade aren't so lucky.

Hi Jack,
That is awesome! Always nice to hear one of the younger generation is interested.
There are times when I wish i would have had kids so I could pass down stuff too as my Dad did to me (he was a mechanic at a GMC dealership all the years I was growing up), but it was not in the cards.
God Bless & Happy New Year
Bill
