With which a guy can set out for a club meeting, after dark, in February, with every expectation of a successful return hours later. Mid-'60s restoration, easy start on mag, and enough patina that sloppy roads are barely an inconvenience.

I agree! I like older restorations that have held up well, but been used enough to prove their reliability. Something nice enough I can go to a club tour or other meet and park next to a really fine classic era automobile and I don't need to feel embarrassed by my car. And I do not want to worry about adding minor scratches by carrying picnic baskets or other accoutrements.

While I appreciate the beauty and hard work of a "perfect" Model T my favorite kind is the the driver cars.
Reliable, a complete package, and one that you don't have to worry about.
The warts and scars tell a story. It makes people come up and talk to you about the car.
Kids can sit in it and get pictures plus the dogs ride in the back.
Driving it is my favorite part.
Good for you for driving in winter. Cold weather is too painful for me anymore.
I can't wait for spring time again.
Love It!
Mike

I heartily concur ! I bought a well-used well-done restoration I could “abuse” with a clear conscience. It’s more fun. When I got it ten years ago, folks would ask if I had restored it myself . . . Now, as items have worn and failed, I’ve rebuilt the rear axle, “freshened” the engine and transmission, replaced the steering column, re-made the dash board, replaced the top, replaced one rear fender that rusted out at the running board, and the current winter project is a front axle rebuild, so about now, I guess I could say I
have restored it myself, just not “frame off”

I agree! I correct people when they call it a show car. It's not a show car, it's a GO CAR.

My favorite driver! I can use it for work also. Mechanically rebuilt and very dependable.

Looks like a lot of fun, Dallas. Always nicest when the cosmetics age together.
Extra points for being a working truck!
