Does anyone know if there’s a difference between Canadian coil boxes and US coil boxes. I have a 1922 Canadian tourer… the coil box needs rebuilt. The wood isn’t the correct thickness and when the lid is on I short out coils….

I either want to buy a rebuild kit, or maybe someone has a nice rebuilt one ready to go for me?

In Canada they would say the coilbox needs TO BE rebuilt, or needs rebuilding. I have used the plastic rebuild kits offered by the vendors on our Canadian sourced cars. The narrow slot cut in the bottom of the back board may need some attention. It can get hung up on the curve of the bottom fold in the tin base, and the screws in the back do not line up quite as they should. Otherwise, the kit is an excellent product

Took me a while but you are asking about the adjustment post on the closest coil. Could have been replaced. Some of the later replacement coils did have taller posts but ya that one is a bit tall.

The coil on the right is an aftermarket KW coil. GENUINE is visible just above the coil box. I have found the later KW reproduction coils have rather tall and non-copper plated hardware.

Why not buy a rebuild kit? Do it yourself, and you will get a feel for what this hobby is all about. For myself, I bought one of Reagans plastic kits.
