Sticky Wicket

I'm installing the disc brake kit on my '25 touring with large drum wire wheels. I removed the old drums, ground out the welds and pressed out the lugs to release the hubs from the drums for installation on the new combination drum/rotor.

The first one went swimmingly. However, I find that I am unable to press the other hub onto the drum/rotor because the lug holes on that hub seem to be too small (or possibly the shoulders on the drum/rotor are too big).

It's worth noting that I uncovered a paper tag on the problem hub that says "made in Hong Kong" and which had been painted over.

Any thoughts on how to remedy this?

I've included close ups of both the successful and unsuccessful installation.

Thanks

I gathered up the lug bolts that I pressed out of the hubs.

The one on the top (longer, narrower) came out of the hub that doesn't fit (made in Hong Kong).

Looks like I'm buying a new hub . . .
