Do any of you think there would be a problem if I wrapped the exhaust pipe (with fiberglass wrap) to cut down on the heat coming up through the floorboards? It's a '16 Touring. Thanks,
Jeff in Florida

I wrapped my exhaust pipe just under the floor board on my 27 Roadster Pickup and have had no issue. The floor is cooler. It is lots easier to remove the exhaust to wrap it.

I just did exactly the same thing using titanium wrap (the titanium has a higher max temp and is easier to install).
It smokes pretty good the first time it heats up so just be aware of that.
As far as whether it works, I don't know yet.

Mine is wrapped. Smoked for a few minutes and no issues since. Good luck!

Or you could use an aluminium shield mounted with spacers and wood screws under the floorboards. Two pieces . One for each floorboard.

I have wrapped my stainless pipe with exhaust wrap. I wouldn't wrap regular steel as the wrap can hold moisture increasing the rust rate of the pipe. I also stapled automotive insulation to the bottom side of my floor boards. Doing both make a big difference.

I did both. Exhaust pipe wrap and I made a heat shield

I used a piece of 4" flexible metal dryer hose cut in half to fit over the pipe as a heat shield. It was easy to form and wire in place.
