I just replaced the timer (commutator) wiring harness on my '27. The old harness was routed under the front coil box bracket that holds the box to the head. A previous owner had put a tie wrap around the harness and the bracket to hold the harness a fraction of an inch off of the head. That's sure not the way Henry did it. Does anyone know for sure if the harness was routed as described or should it pass over the coil box bracket?

Routes from the timer up to the left water outlet bolt where it is held by a wire clip, then over the coil box bracket to the top terminals on the coil box.

I talked to the folks at Lang's about the clip(s) to hold the harness to the front water outlet. They suggested a pair of their #5033 clips face to face. This surrounds the harness so that it can't slip out of the clips, yet is loose enough that the harness can slip a bit. This worked so well that I looked at the timer end of the harness and decided to do the same thing there. I bought two more clips and secured the harness th the top generator bolt. No more chafing of the harness and it looks factory.

Think these match the description that was given. I copied them from previous MTFCA threads

Those spots are correct for the harness clips, #7688, under the drivers side water outlet bolt, and another clip under the large hex head bolt on the timing gear cover. The correct clips have large diameter hole to fit to these large bolts.
