Neoprene axle seal T-2511-AS

When I tried to fit a new inner neoprene axle seal it seemed like the hole in the seal was not large enough to fit over the axle. I was able to push it about half way along the taper but it would have taken a large force to stretch it enough to slide onto the shaft.
My axle is 1.062" (which seems standard) and the hole in the seal is 0.78". Is this normal?
Regards
Colin

Cover the axle keyway with masking tape then grease up the taper and axle inboard - slide it right on !

This video that Steve made a few years back very nicely shows how to install the neoprene seals.

I followed this procedure and all went well for me.
