Here are some of the pictures of our visit to Model T Haven a couple days ago. There is no way pictures can show what is there. I took pics of some of the large collection of Model T accessories Mark recently bought and is selling on e-bay or to lucky "walk-in customers" like me They are in a big room just spread out on the floor. Or some of the stuff has been somewhat sorted on shelves or piles of similar items. He has not even gone thru all the boxes of NOS items yet. I feel like I was given "rock star" access to all the parts as I was allowed to just dig to my hearts content. I spent several hours in that room going thru boxes and boxes of NOS accessories. As I went thru things I tried to help sort and move some things to where they should belong. I maybe saw 1/4 of what was there. It was overwhelming and there are still boxes I did not open. It would take several days to just sort out the piles. I hope I helped Mark out at least a little bit, because the opportunity to dig thru that much high quality parts is getting to be almost a non-existent pleasure to have the opportunity to do. Then we went outside to the sheds to see the for sale project cars. I took some pictures of some of the cars in the sheds, but again, pictures do no really show what is there. Then we went to the "back lot" ... Its just a "sea of rusty Model Ts" as well as some later stuff. There are lots of buildings full of T parts just stacked to the ceilings.... I gave up trying to take pictures of the stuff in the buildings,

The main reason I went, was to look for a 30x3-1/2 clincher rim for my set of Buffalo disc wheels. I have four good ones but need something for a spare. The wife and myself spent hours digging and digging and digging looking for something that would work or be able to modify for my spare tire. We found nothing at all .. Looks like I will have to custom make me a rim out of several different wheels to get all the beads, and lugs in the proper locations. I see some quality time with my welder coming up in the near future.

The last pictures will show some of the goodies I bought. I did not buy much, (it took all my self control to not buy a truck load) but I did find a very nice EZ-Power PTO unit for my tractor conversion. Its missing the pully, so if anyone has a extra EZ-Power pully they want to sell or trade, let me know. I also found a nice dropped axel and some small goodies to appease my "need to buy something"

Can anyone guess what the two tools I show in my parts bought pictures are for, I know what they are if no one can guess ...

Mark sometimes gets a bad rap, but I have always had good dealings with him and have always been treated very well .... Prices are reasonable, I did not even try to haggle with him on the things I bought.

Bearing sleeve puller?

Tools - appears to be a Cantrell-Miller sleeve puller for a TT and a really rare Stewart speedo gear indexer !

What does the Buffalo disc wheel rim you are in search of look like?

It is a rear felt dust cap puller (rear axle)

Correct ...The tool with the crank is a dust cap puller and the other tool is a Stewart speedometer gear indexer to locate the three holes for the road gear bolts and spacers. Used when installing a speedo setup on a wheel that was not drilled at the factory.

That did not take very long .... way to go guys ....

Shirkwood, Im going to take some pictures and try to describe what Im in need of and then later, post it as a separate thread . Basically it is like the T rim that has the removable lugs. I think they are called a Hayes 88 rim. ?? The buffalo rim has no mounting lugs. It is held in place by a separate ring and one big "drive lug" keeps it from spinning in the wheel. It is a 30X3-1/2 inch rim with a bead running around the inner circumference. The bead has a flat shoulder similar to some of the ford rims. The problem is the spacing of the bead/shoulder. It basically is backwards of the Ford/Hayes rims and sits in a different spacing location from the outer edge of the rim. I think I can take a Ford/Hayes rim and with some very careful measurements cut the rim into three pieces all the way around the circumference, then reverse the bead/shoulder orientation and weld the three pieces back together ... The big "drive lug" will be an easy fabrication to add to the rim . At least it sounds good in theory ..

I bought a NOS New Day timer from Mark off ebay recently. It probably came from that stash.

Now I see why it's called Model T Haven....it's just one letter short of Heaven.

My goodness. If I was a single man with the $$, I'd be all over that and would happily spend my days cataloging all of it and finding new homes for it. Ah well..."if IFS and BUTS were candies and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas"

I've been there a couple times. Not only does Mark have an incredible collection, he knows what is all is and where it all is.

I've bought a lot of stuff from him over the years and sold him some things. Fair to deal with, buys so he can make a profit -- which is why we are all in business. Sells at a price where the seller and buyer both feel like they got a fair deal. Hard to do any better than that.

I'd sure like to go look through the collection he just bought.

I see a few things in the e-bay listings I would have bought if I had seen them when I was there. The blue shelf unit I show in one of the pictures above is one of the shelve units that has current e-bay listings on it. I stood right at the shelves of e-bay items and did not see the winged skull hood ornament at all. That is an item that would have "jumped out at me" but I did not see it. That shows how overwhelming the quanity of items are...

I guess it is time for me to go to e-bay and do a "buy it now" of the "winged skull" hood ornament ....

WOW! Better than visiting a museum! Was that a pile of top irons in one of those pictures?

Doug, Im not sure what picture you are speaking of, but yes there were piles of top iron parts. The better stuff is in the buildings and sheds. But there are lots of very good items in the outside piles.

I was really curious about a few of the project cars in photos above. So, since the forum was only partially working, well, yesterday, I went to Model T Haven's site and looked for them. I saw a few fairly nice horseless carriages needing major restoration, but not the few projects I was really wondering about. Maybe once things get back to normal here, someone can suggest a link to see and read more about them?

Wayne, what cars were you interested in. ?? I think the best deal there is the Ames touring/sedan with the California top... ... Probably the best thing to do would be to call Model T Haven. No telling how long the picture thing will be down ...

I was curious about the Ames (interesting looking car!), so you answered part of that one. I think I would have liked that car years ago, but at the current stage of my life, I can't see me trying to tackle a car like that. A couple of the other cars I am curious about (I am hesitant to say "interested" in because I am too broke to seriously consider buying anything these days, but would sure like to be interested in them)? A couple other earlier non-Ford cars, more than a chassis, but less than full cars. As much as anything, I am curious what they are, and just how much and good or bad they are to dream of the possibilities of turning them into an antique car to be driven and enjoyed.
That is certainly an incredible place with a lot of the stuff my dreams are made of (Model T parts!). I enjoyed looking through your photos, and spotted a lot of parts I could really use. But, in reality, I have almost enough parts myself to put together at least three more cars yet. Just need to get the time and more money to do so.

Thank you for sharing the adventure and the pictures. I hope the issues get straightened out soon so I can look at the photos again.

I am hesitant to even mention the Ames.... I would love to have it. It really is a solid and what appears to be a complete. Ames . It has some armature work started, but nothing to hurt the projects. The wood is excellent, and the California top is very restorable. But like you, I just can not see starting another project ... Oh well, I can dream ): .. Hope they get the pic problem solved soon. I may post the pics I took of the Ames when they do .
