Just me or have there been significantly fewer cars for sale?

Post by keqwow » Wed Aug 07, 2019 11:59 pm

Is it just me or has there been significantly fewer Model T's for sale this year than in past years? Or is it due to the forum changing....or other internet issues? It just seems as though there were a lot more cars coming up for sale last year and a lot more turn over. I feel like I've been looking at the same dozen cars listed forever and not much is happening with any of them. Just curious. It's nice to see stuff come up for sale even if I can't afford any of it. :D

I think you have to pay now to advertise a car for sale, That could be it.
Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

I would suspect it’s because of the restrictions on users of the “Vehicles for Sale” portion of the forum. I believe you have to be a member of the MTFCA to register for that Board.

True you have to be a member for free ad or pay as a non member. Buyers can still send a PM or Email. Could it just be the time of year? or with prices what they are, just not being sold right now. I really don't see an increase of cars listed on Ebay (for higher cost but bigger market) or Fordbarn. or could it be that, with cars for sale having their own section what seem like a few are maybe close to the same amount only not being lost in all the other classifieds.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

I think having to be a member or pay is probably it. I see lots of FB posts about cars for sale and cars that people just bought.
The inevitable often happens.

Didn't think about FB. Selling on FB, you are going to reach a larger group of people that might be buying for the first time. Most people looking at this site have a T or TT and also there is a limited viewing group here. I did look at a few cars that are listed here, don't see a lot of them being sold. Maybe they are over priced for the market? Don't know.

I think there are always more cars for sale in late fall and winter when people realize they can't keep them outside. I know several people who bought cars earlier in the year and have no idea where they are going to keep them.
