Question about new top iron and bows

Has anyone purchased the new top irons with the wood bows that the vendors sell? For $1040 ready for installation I was wondering about the quality. Doesnt seem like a bad price for the irons and the wood if they are decent.

I hope you are right. I would have checked BEFORE I purchased them. The sockets I've seen are not 100% the same as the originals.

Was wondering the same thing. Repair or buy new and replace.....eventually.

I bought a set of roadster sockets and bows from Lang's for Betsy, my 1924 cut-off touring (now a pickup). I was happy with the results.

To Larry's point, the current reproduction sockets do not have the raised dimples stamped in them where the side curtain fasteners go. :)

One thing I failed to mention, the repro top sockets don't have the common sense fastener holes located, drilled or threaded. That is typical for reproductions. They don't do the research! That is why I stay away from reproductions.

I wish parts could be purchased. The front assembly irons always rust through on the curve just before where the wood is inserted.
