My journey of 1000 steps is over

Dean Yoder and Steve Jelf encouraged me, and Adam Doleshal rebuilt my engine, so I decided to go on a journey. I started in Milwaukee in my 1920 touring and drove 232 miles to Three Lakes, WI to attend the wedding of my nephew Keenan to his new wife Abby.

After the wedding I drove 320 miles to New London to participate in the New London to New Brighton Car Run. Rick Lindner loaned us his 1907 Model S, and John Biggs and I drove 120 miles in the rain, but we finished. The day before John had to teach me how to drive a Model S since all the controls are reversed. Throttle on the left, brake is the middle pedal, and the clutch is outside the car and controlled with my right hand.

Next stop was to see my 90 year old mother and spend a couple days with her. On the way I drove through The Highground in Neilsville, WI to see the veterans memorial.

Next stop was home. I drove approximately 1000 miles in 13 days. I do not know how many miles we did in New London, but that was in other cars. I used 44 gallons of gas, and did not have to add any oil (Thanks Adam). My mileage was approximately 20.4 mpg. Not bad for a 99 year old car. Next trip - OCF in Detroit.

It's nice to have the luxury of time for stuff like this, isn't it? See you at OCF (or on the way?).

Terry, the car came that way. I only had the side lamps redone by a german guy in a little shop.

Ah yes Dick, it would, but as a wise man once said;
:ugeek: "The road IS the destination"
And there should be something to strive for, don't put the bar too low ;)
