TT rear hubs

The threads on my 26TT rear hubs are pretty boogered up. Is there a tool or a way to fix them or do I just go without hub caps? I bought a hub puller before I got the truck home in anticipation of needing it to pull the rear wheels. The wheels came right off so didn't need it. It is a good thing because it wouldn't screw on far enough to do any good.

About the only advice I can offer is obtaining one of those about 9” x 3/4” square metal thread chasing tools. There’s 8 different TPI selections on each tool. Someone will chime in with the specific TPI for TT rear hubs. I’m not familiar with a thread chaser like the one available for T hubs. Otherwise, find another TT rear hub with good threads. They’re not rare. I have several...

The rear hubs are 16 TPI.

Yes, and if you don’t already have a set of these -

- you ought to get a set.

They can clean up about any external thread from about 8-32 TPI. They work like a file using any remaining thread grooves for alignment. Just work your way around the hub til you get it cleaned up.

I believe amazon even has them now.
