What modern puller will work to remove this hub?

I meant brake drum, not hub.

Bill, I'd be inclined to support the drum in a press and use the press to push the hub out. You will need a heavy tubular support for the drum. We keep a selection of starter/ generator housings for this purpose. Heat and rust penetrant may help.
Hope this helps.

You probably will need to pull the hub first.
Then push out the wheel studs and remove the drum.
This puller will work...

If you have a pal with a lathe, you can turn up a split collar which will "grab" the hub and provide ample purchase area for a heavy puller to grab. Just be sure to remove the axle nut and turn it around and reinstall to keep from deforming axle threads.

I purchased this one from Harbor Freight for less than $10 and modified the ears and It worked great. The hub came off without out any heat.
If you can't pull It cold and have to heat It, pour a 5 gallon bucket of cold water on it after you get It red hot, be careful of the steam It will generate, It will shock the bond and it should come right off. And do as Scott said about the nut.

With lugs like that I use a dog bone puller.

use one of the pullers shown above to remove the hub. Then press out the lugs and the drum should come right off. When you install the new drum or re-install the existing drum, press in NEW lugs.

Bill, take no notice of me!!!!! I read that you were looking to remove the hub from the drum. Even then, I got it wrong. The studs are pressed out first and then the drum comes off.
Sorry.

Clarification...
What puller do I need to pull the entire hub and drum off the axle?

Any or all of the above shown will do the job - then the drum can be removed.

Bill Everett, I just looked at the puller and there are no markings on It. I purchased It from HF many years ago just for this purpose because I could not find my old ford hub puller. It did a good job at a cheep price.

The harbor freight puller has been a pitman arm puller, before being modified. It is normally used to pull the steering pitman arm off the tapered splined shaft of a modern steering box. It looks like the opening between the jaws has been widened to fit over the slot in the hub.

Yes, pitman arm puller. Most big auto parts chains have these heavier cast version.
China made but simple grinding of the lugs more wider to fit around the hub collar on wire wheel hubs lets them work.
Here’s mine:

Dan, I stopped by Harbor Freight today and bought one of those pullers.
The Part Number is 63684 and it cost $14.95 today without any coupons.
The opening is listed as 1 5/16 and needs to be 1 3/4 inch for the rear hub.
By careful calculations, and cutting both sides, I have exactly 1 3/4 inch now.
The frame is very hard and it required a Harbor Freight electric cut-off tool to make clean cuts.
The tool works fine, thanks for the tip!

Bill, that original Ford puller has a 5-Z-1172 number on it, but it is hard to see.
