Like I said, just took it for a little drive up the mountain, came back and took a couple shots of it before I went back to work.

Most of them disappeared during the depression and got turned into sleds by the farm kids. We have these things called hills here and this white stuff called snow and kids actually walked to school and played in it and slid down hills on Model T coupe truck lids n stuff. They still do stuff like that here.

Wooo, I love white walls on closed cars, makes em look snazzy...nice shade of grey too. Although looks like your coupe is trying awful hard to be an open car. Nice scenery too, but a wee bit too cold for the like o I...I'll keep my sight pon someplace a bit more South, like the Midwest.

Did it feel like "good ol' times" when driving it?

Old times is relative.

I got my first T coupe in 1954, have had T's over the years but never another coupe. The reason I wanted this one was that it is all original body paint -- the color is the light greenish gray. The fenders are black and were painted with a brush probably 50-75 years ago. I've known the car since the 70's, didn't want a coupe in those days, now I guess it is Old Times that make me want one. Also like being able to drive them pretty much year around since you are at least out of the wind. John has a 22 coupe, I am amazed at how cozy it is. His wife loves it because here it is ALWAYS chilly when the sun goes down. We are moving toward fall now, furnaces are lit and needed at night if you are as close to the mountains as I am. 15 miles east of the Continental Divide in town, right below the Little Belts and the Spokane Hills where my little ranch is. It is cold at night year around. The water in my creeks never warms up in the summer very much, cold, crystal clear -- although I don't drink it, you dunno what died or peed in it lately -- and probably is some colder in the winter but not all that much. The little creek comes from a spring across the highway. The main creek comes down from the Elkhorn mountains about 5 or 6 miles away, mixes with water from the Aspen groves across the way and flows down eventually to the Missouri River.

Guess I haven't taken a photo since we painted the entry fence last year.

For you city folks and easterners, that is an old Sheep Wagon. The herders would live in it and move from place to place as the sheep grazed. I've had this one for years, parked it down by the creek for no reason other than it looked good sitting there. It is larger than most and probably was a "summer wagon" for herders that had a wife and kids. It is about 3 feet longer than the standard ones. Room for another small bed or two for the kids and a little more living room.

I was born in town and I know what a sheep wagon is. I've watched Dave Engel restore them.

What beautiful pictures you have posted, most of them look like post cards.

I am so cheap that when I get visitors here in the winter as they come in the door I give them a pair of mittens and a scarf and tell them to sit down and I'll get the ice pick so we can have some coffee. Come January I place a fork in the coffee cup so they can just lick the coffee popsicle.

My plan is to be there. I've wanted to go for years but this is auction season and haying season and everything else season. I have pretty much retired from the auction business, the carburetor pile is growing smaller by the day and I'm thinking if I'm ever going it is this year. I have Rob's Kingston 5 ball from his race car on the bench waiting for the correct sized balls, should be good to go Monday. I'd like to be there for it's re-introduction.

I'm actually thinking of cancelling my plane ticket and driving. The best car I have is a 26 year old Cadillac but it only has 80,000 on it and has a big trunk to fill with carburetors at that auction. Cost more and take more time than flying but never know what might be there I can't live without. It's about 4 days from here.

Here is another picture. This is the other end of the state. This is my ranch in eastern Montana, taken about 5 am of a June morning some years ago. At the right of the photo is the old townsite of Westmore. The Milwaukee railroad came through in 1908 and by 1909 there was a town there. Long gone now. Not much left but land, grass, wind and a few Model T parts.

What a beautifully preserved car. Original paint is my weakness. There's something magical about it.
