Looks like the frame survived at least.

Only one this week? Wish I could say that! Glad the frame is ok.

As a long-time bumbling klutz, I can only say welcome to the club.

Our family car is a 2015 Acura MDX. It does not have an ignition key, just a fob in your pocket. Push the button and it starts. About a week ago we stopped at a restaurant with our 2 little grandsons (ages 3 and 5). My wife and the boys headed for the entranced. I couldn't get the car to "beep", telling me it was locked. I opened and shut the doors, and tried repeatedly, but no luck. By this time my wife and the boys are looking back at me with that, "What the heck is he doing?" look.

It turned out I had failed to turn off the engine. The damn thing is smarter than me.

I broke my top windscreen today too. I was closing it up (yesterday was a hot one so I had it flipped open) and when I loosened the wing nuts it slipped and clipped the corner of the lower half when it swung shut.

Dont try to pull the rear hub with the axle nut still on!
Yup pulled cotter pin and screwed the puller on, after trying for about ten minutes I noticed the pin laying there and no nut!

I leave the nut on only screw it out flush with the end of the axle shaft (helps protect the end of the shaft). But have forgotten to remove it a couple of times with the puller still on.

Mark and Dallas - have done that, too. Worst mistake was to drain the oil and forget to replace it. Luckily I only started up the car for a few minutes and then went to check the oil. I lucked out. Now I always put the new bottles of oil on the car before I drain the old.

I just over filled the car and was draining the extra out. Went in the house to get something and got distracted. Went back out and started the car and moved it about 2 feet when the light bulb came on , quickly turned it off and got out and under, I had forgotten to close the petcock.

In the 1950’s my father bought a TT truck with a wooden cab. It had solid rubber tires on the back. They called it the Teddy truck because Teddy Roosevelt was a rough rider. At some point dad scored some 23” pneumatic TT wheels and tires. He backed the truck into the garage at his grandma’s house and changed them out. When done he went for a ride. About two feet. The truck wedged under the door of the shed having been about three inches taller with the new wheels. Nearly took the shed with him. He had to put the old wheels back on and make the swap outside.

I always tie a rag onto the steering wheel of whatever I'm about to change the oil in. This will remind me not to start the engine until the oil is back in.

I needed to remove the motor some years back and had a heck of a time. After some four hours of struggle I called a friend of mine to get ideas as to why I cannot pull the motor from the frame. While we were talking as to did you disconnect this or that, a friend of his wisiting said out loud, “ did you disconnect the wishbone? “ . Frank

Finishing up my axle rebuild sunday nite for some reason l put the torque tube on twisted around one bolt off l got home last nite looked at it and thought man what an idiot so l took it apart reassembled correctly, installed the radius rods and stepped back to admire my work. That’s when l noticed l had forgotten to slide the ball cap up first. Oh man

Sometimes I have several in one day. Now my 13 year old is catching mistakes before I make them. I work in chemistry labs all day and am often wearing a lab coat when I get home. My kids have been calling me the absent minded professor for years.

Glad to see the frame survived.

I had a nearly identical situation when trying to pull my engine a few weeks ago. I had a non-T friend over to help me. The engine wasn't budging and he looked under the car and said, "I'm not sure what this triangle shaped thing is bolted under the engine but I don't thing it's going anywhere until we get that taken loose".
