1926 Coupe Marketing Picture

Post by Humblej » Sun Oct 06, 2019 9:25 am

Ran across this interesting marketing picture. Windshield frame and window moldings appear to be painted black, spare tire bracket is black. Rear fender body area appears to be painted over in black. Dash is body color. Pin striping is wide. And as usual, car came without a spare tire, just a rim. Oh, and I assume this one is configured for delivery to Australia.

And no oil drips on the floor either. At least the deck lid key hasn't fallen out

Made it easier to check the oil level and tire pressure. Plus if you had to work on the improved fuel system, it would help drain that tank...

Color? I thought those cars were pyroxlin green in '26, but as an advertising stunt, who knows? Looking at the late edition Ford Service book (they show an "improved" coupe in there) the color is lighter than dark green... I attribue it to the miracles of Pyroxylin Lacquer...

Could be highland green, or fawn grey, or moleskin.

It could also have been painted any non-standard colour for better contrast in black and white photos. Did you know the Addams family’s house was pink?
