After about 35-40 years of storage moves, putzing with body work, my Dad's TT has finally 'spoken up' once again. My 19 year-old grandson brought another friend along yesterday to try our luck at getting the old truck running. Checked the firing order, maybe a coil or two that's sat for too long....? Some stuttering and popping, but we now know there's breathing and life still there. More checking things over. (Thank God that the starter still woks!!) Finally! Yes!! Not perfect by any means, but progress has been made. My grandson commented that he "felt the chills of excitement up his back" when we finally fired up. New battery, wiring, and skins have been installed; we've identified a few more sooner-than-later replacement parts; with perhaps a possibility of finding some pavement before winter. However, much photogenic 'make-up' will still need to be applied.... "Twooo" is a steel-bodied, factory steel-stake flatbed, with 'lotsa natural wood to show'! Maybe add few baled straw 'seats' in back along with those staked sideboards, and it could be fun to haul Trick-or-Treaters around the neighborhood come Halloween?
My grandson had spoken up as being interested in retaining that 'blood-family succession' my Dad had requested... (Knowing the request and 'rules', a Joint-Title can go a long way to assure a desired succession.) The T-hobby will continue, at least around here.
"Twooo" still lives!

You wouldn't show a picture of your 'best gal' without the make-up!
