Scott,

Only John Regan can have a "Fun Project".
The rest of us are relegated to "
"A Good Time"
"A Fun Time"
"A Fun Adventure"
etc, etc, etc ...

BTW - Great work!!

I have thought those are the most delightful type of oilers and have a nice way of working. Can you tell or show any details of making them?

Hi Rich

there are no "build" pictures, unfortunately. I purchased a set of used originals from a forum member and used them for analysis. These are the result of that endeavour. The most surprising thing was the springs...those little fellows are a bit spendy. The originals have music wire springs and I think that's why so many lost their lids. If ignored and not lubed, I think that rust takes it's toll. I therefore used Stainless Steel, which did not really influence the price...they are simply expensive little fellers in any material.

Glad you like them

They're beautiful! Wow.
Found the lower pins for the springs. Cool and simple. :)

Scott,
I think I know where you got the "originals" you used for analysis. You have certainly done the T community a great service by producing such a fine product.

Hope you sell lots of them! I'd like to offer a suggestion for future runs. If you have a late king pin laying around, notice there is a vertical slot going from the oil hole down past where the bushing would be to allow the oil to get to the bottom bushing. Randall Anderson did that to his early spindle bolts, and since you can't see them it's something to consider. Ford did it, so why not?

I enjoy making stuff too. Especially the “brain teaser “ part of trying to figure out the best/cheapest way to a quality item!!
Looks great Scott
