Hot or Cold

I'm trying to install replacement throttle and spark rods. They need some major realignment and are impossible to bend with just my hands. I was going to bend them is a vice and thought maybe I should heat them first. Any suggestions? Thanks

The material should be stainless steel if new ones. Just cold bend for simple bend.

Years ago got a set, but they weren't matched pair, so I just bent the spark lever cold, from the throttle rod supplied instead of a spark lever, a bit of a wiggle in the bend before the quadrant, but it works, just if you look close you can see the wiggle... :( One of these days might replace...one of these days

For clearification rods are the ones that run from the steering column to the timer and the one to the carb.

Bend them cold, a couple of crescent wrenches and a extension in the hole of the handle works.
There's a Ford tool for that, like a fork.
